Denton is located at the top of the Metroplex's "Golden Triangle". Although it has always been a small city best known for its two universities, North Texas State and Texas Women's University, it is now in fast growth mode. Denton's population has exceeded 100,000, which has brought along with it many new retail and dining options.
Denton is the closest large city to areas such as Sanger, Valley View, Aubrey and Pilot Point (although Frisco is a very popular destination for Aubrey and Pilot Point citizens).
Denton has two major hospitals, a mall and several large retail shopping centers. Although Dallas and Fort Worth continue to grow northward, allow 45 to 60 minutes to drive to downtown Dallas or Fort Worth in non-rush hour traffic.
