Top Things to Do in Dallas

Dallas is one of the major cities in Texas, and is the 9th largest city in the United States. The city boasts a rich history, and rose to prominence due in part to its importance in history to major industries, including the oil and cotton industries, as well as its convenient location along numerous railroad lines. Fast-forward to today, and the Dallas Fort Worth metro area is a thriving urban metropolis, and home to some of the best activities and attractions in all of Texas.< Whether you are new to the area or have lived here for years, or even if you're just visiting our fair city, you will find plenty of fun things to do to keep your entire family entertained. If you are looking for the top things to do in Dallas, you’re in luck! Below, we’ve outlined a list of our favorite top things to do in Dallas, and you’re sure to find something for everyone in your family to enjoy.<

  • Catch a game at AT&T Stadium. As the home to the world famous Dallas Cowboys, AT&T Stadium is not to be missed. The stadium is massive – 3 million square feet, to be exact. Although the stadium is technically in Arlington, it can still be seen from Dallas, nearly 20 miles to the west. Visitors often marvel in surprise at how pretty the stadium is, in addition to its sheer size. Be sure to call ahead of time to arrange a tour of the field, the players’ and cheerleaders’ locker rooms, as well as the postgame interview room.
  • George W Bush Presidential Center. Regardless of your own personal political slant, this is one attraction that should be seen at least once. The museum offers an intriguing look into the years that George W Bush ran the United States, with a particularly touching section on 9/11. You can also have your picture taken in a replica Oval Office, or laugh at a video of an impersonator attempting to teach George W Bush how to say “nuclear proliferation.” For more information, click here.
  • Dallas Heritage Village at Old City Park. This attraction is of particular interest to history buffs, or those who are particularly interested in learning about Dallas’s oldest history. Here, you will find a collection of 19th century homes, as well as historical commercial buildings. Be sure to ask a local about the Millermore, which is reported to be haunted.
  • Geo-Deck at Reunion Tower. This is generally one of the first stops that people make when visiting the Dallas area. The Geo-Deck provides an aerial birds eye view of the entire city and its most famous features, including Dealey Plaza, the Trinity River, and the Margaret Hunt Hill bridge.
  • Northpark Center. This has been described as a shopper’s paradise. Although there are shopping centers that are larger, there certainly aren’t any that are classier. This center includes shops such as Tiffany, Valentino, Neiman Marcus, and Burberry. If you can take your eyes off of the shop, you’ll notice that you’re walking past works of art by the likes of Andy Warhol, Frank Stella, and many more.
