Frisco

Community Links

Frisco Texas is considered part of the Dallas/Fort Worth area, as a suburb of Dallas, and provides a close and convenient location to not only a fantastic international airport, but also world class amenities. The drive to downtown Dallas is only around 30 minutes. This short commute allows you the flexibility to work in Dallas, while still retaining a small-town feel.

Part of the small-town charm is the city’s determination to balance the economic needs of the city (retail and commercial space) with the small residential and hometown feel. One way Frisco has been able to do this is to both add new green space areas and maintain the existing ones. There is close to 1,400 acres of parks and public outdoor areas.

Additionally, the city has done such a stellar job in balancing the public needs of the city that in 2014 they were named “Best Place in Texas for Young Families” by a consumer advocacy group. The ranking was based upon public school standings, median home value, cost of home ownership, median income, and most importantly long term growth.  What this signifies is a well-developed city plan with the local citizens’ concerns foremost considered when making decisions that affect the city.

Reasons to Live in Frisco

Athletics/Sports

We know Texans are competitive and this is showcased in no better way than our love for sports teams. For the baseball fan, and those who love the Texas Rangers, you can get up close and personal with the future players of the Rangers. Frisco is home to the Dr. Pepper/Seven-Up Ballpark which is where the Frisco RoughRiders play AA baseball. This amazing facility is like no other in that it was uniquely designed as a village-like park.

For the hockey fan the city boasts the practice center for the Dallas Stars hockey team. The Dr. Pepper StarCenter is a multipurpose facility, so you not only catch some of the top NHL players practicing, you can also watch the Texas Legends, a NBA Development League.

As you can see, there is quite a theme developing here. Frisco has been such a boom in the sports industry that the Cowboys have moved their corporate headquarters there.

Canyons Rock Climbing is a state-of-the-art indoor climbing facility for all ages and abilities, and is located across from the new Pizza Hut Park. The Superdrome is a 2,200 seat stadium and features a 250 meter, 44 degree banking inclined track and is considered one of the fastest low altitude outdoor tracks in the world. Frisco has several health clubs including 24 Hour and LA Fitness.

Shopping

Frisco is a very popular destination for the nearby communities of Oak Point, Aubrey, Pilot Point, Celina and Prosper. It is an ideal place to find all the things you want to see and do, including shopping, dining, sports and entertainment. Frisco has become a major shopping destination, with more than 4 million square feet of retail space.
North Texas’ largest mall, the Stonebriar Centre, is located in Frisco and offers over 160 stores, a public NHL-sized ice skating arena and a 24-screen movie theater. There are also several outdoor shopping centers, including The Centre at Preston Ridge, which offers a variety of specialty shops.

Education

Not to outdone by amazing sports facilities, Frisco has placed enormous emphasis on schooling from the bottom to the top. Their greater school ranking was a perfect 10 out of 10 score for academic excellence. Additionally, higher education has been flocking to this area. UT Arlington and University of North Texas have both opened campuses for professionals and students seeking an MBA. Furthermore, the University of Dallas has moved its campus here.  These institutions of higher learning are helping to increase the quality of jobs and create new ideas and companies constantly.

Recreation

Frisco knows how to keep its residents entertained and happy – it is also home to three golf courses, each offering a challenge to the avid golf enthusiast. The Trails of Frisco is an 18-hole, par 71 course and offers dramatic bunkering, scenic wetlands and many other amenities, such as grass and mat driving ranges. The Westin Stonebriar Resort hosts an award-winning Tom Fazio 18-hole championship golf course and the Plantation Golf Club is an 18-hole, par 72 course featuring Bermuda grass greens, 20 sand bunkers and 9 ponds.
