The Man’s Guide to Dallas

mans_guide_dallas Dallas is full of professional sports, plenty of breweries, and meaty dishes galore. All of these three things together are the ingredients for a perfect man-cation in Dallas. There is no doubtMan’s Guide to Dallas that you won’t get your sports fix, beer fix and meat fix in the rugged and manly city that is Dallas. Here is a man’s guide to Dallas, TX – you won’t be disappointed.

Dallas Sports

From the Dallas Cowboys in Arlington to the Mavericks in the American Airlines Arena in Downtown Dallas, there are so many sports venues in Dallas that you’ll have a hard time choosing which game to attend.

On Sundays you can be one of over 100,000 people in AT&T Stadium in the fall or you can pop on over to Globe Life Park to see the Rangers knock homeruns out of the park on just about any day in the summer. You can also catch some basketball or hockey at the American Airlines Center when the Mavericks and the Dallas Stars play. If you’re into soccer, you can also watch FC Dallas play at Toyota Stadium in Frisco.

There are plenty of sports to go around in Dallas, but make sure if you’re rooting against a team playing Dallas that you keep it quiet – we’re die hard Cowboys, Rangers, Mavericks and Stars fans around here and we love to show our team spirit.

If you don’t feel like watching sports and want to get in on the action, you can grab your clubs and head to any of the TopGolf locations in the Metroplex to tee off and have a drink and a good time with friends.

Meat and Good Grub

In Dallas, (well Texas, really) meat means barbecue. There are places across the Metroplex to indulge in a manly barbecue feast from Hard 8 barbecue in Coppell, Pecan Lodge in Deep Ellum and Smoke in Plano, you will get your meat fixins just about anywhere in Dallas. Fall of the bone ribs, smoked brisket, all the sides you can imagine and of course peach cobbler to finish the meal off right.

I’m sure you’re mouth is watering by now just thinking about it. Don’t forget to drink some famous Texas sweet tea with your meal – barbecue here just isn’t the same without it.

Dallas has become a big beer location in recent years, mainly because the city continues to grow and people love to crack open a cold on in the city. If you happen to enjoy a man-cation during the Texas State Fair in the fall, you can enjoy some of the wildest beer flavors out there. If you happen to miss the fair, you can sip on beer from local breweries like Deep Ellum Brewing Company or you can go mainstream and drink a cold Budweiser.

Some local breweries include Rahr and Sons Brewing Co. and Peticolas Brewing Company. For a change of pace, head to Bishop Cider Company for some craft hard cider. You can choose from 25 different kinds, so if you’re a hard cider lover, this place won’t let you down. If you’re ready for a night out, head over to White Elephant Saloon, named one of the 100 best bars in America by Esquire Magazine. There is live music every night, plenty of beer to go around and cowboy hats all over the ceiling for a true Texas country feel.

The nightlife in Dallas is unlike any other city. Make sure to visit popular spots in Downtown, Uptown and Lower Greenville Avenue. Spots like the Truckyard off Greenville Avenue are great for lounging, eating amazing food from the food trucks and having a local beer.
